1. MAKARA SANKRANTI:
SAIRASS celebrated Makara Sankranti at I.P. Extn. Delhi on 14th January, 2019.

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti SAIRASS distributed around 300 pickets containing Rice, Moog dal, Peanuts, Rewri, Biscuits etc. to the under privileged people. SAIRASS also gave ‘DAAN’ to Pandits on the occasion. It is a great belief to Hindus DAAN on Makar Sankranti goes to offering Gods.

SAIRASS members actively participated and distributed the packets for about four hours. As many as 300 hundred people received.

2. CANCER AWARENESS CAMP TO OBSERVE THE WORLD CANCER DAY.
SAIRASS and ISARD had organized “Cancer Awareness Camp” on 3rd Febrauary, 2019 for the benefit of inmates of Adarsh Apartments – Colony developed for Economically weaker sections at Sector 16-B, Dwaraka, New Delhi to Mark the ‘WORLD CANCER DAY’.

Cancer Awareness Camp was conducted by a team of 9 Consultant Doctors headed by Dr. (Smt.) C.K. Durga – President Awardee for the specialization on Breast Cancer – Currently Designated as Senior Surgeon at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. Other team of Doctors are :

Camp focused mainly on screening the doubtful cases and counseling on various cancers to General public. The team of Doctors had also extended free consultation and advice to the patients who have been diagnosed of cancer
Doctors explained very clearly on each type of cancer like Skin, Breast, Bladder, Brain, Bone and other types of cancers and educated the audience how to take preventive measures to avoid cancer attack. The said early detection of cancer is curable. But often people neglect and reach the doctor at an advanced stages.
Many women were screened for the detection of cancer and other problems.

Men and women about 100 people attended the Camp and availed the benefit from the free consultation / counseling.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. L. Sita, President, SAIRASS said that the need of the hour is to educate and discuss precautionary measures on various Cancers through organizing such Awareness camps. Especially in pretext of prevalent Life Styles, Food Habits, irregular working profiles / timings and most importantly with the increasing trend of consumption of Alcohol, Tobacco and other narcotics. She reiterated the requirement of organizing such awareness
camps to facilitate the detection of positive cases from early to advanced stages. Early detection and screening tests can help save many lives, she urged.

Smt. L.Sita specially thanked the team of Doctors and the President Shri M. Rajagopal and Secretary Dr. Ajit Prasad and other members of ISARD, for extending their support in making the Camp a grand success.

3. INDIAN NATIONAL FLAG FORMATION DAY

Sri Pingali Venkaiah Charitable Trust, Delhi Unit and SITA All India Research and Social Services (R ) jointly observed the Indian National Flag Formation Day on 1st April, 2019 at Kamayani Kunj, I.P. Extn. Delhi.

SAIRASS conducted various competitions on the occasion about the History of Indian National Flag and its origin, when, where it was approved and who has design the Indian Flag etc. to the school children. Students showed their enthusiasm and dressed up as freedom fighters …like Rani Jhansi Lakshmibai, Durga Bai Deshmukh, Bhikhaji Cama, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Soldier etc.

Best adjudged students given away the prizes. Distributed study material to all the students present on the occasion.

On the occasion of National Flag Formation Day remembered and paid tributes to the designer of Indian National Flag Sri Pingali Venkaiah, a great patriot , who presented the design of our flag at the Indian National Congress Conference held at Vijayawada on 31st March and 1st April, 1921. The said Flag was unanimously approved and the same flag representing India even to day.

Smt. Shashi Chandana, Muncipal Councillor, Shri M. Rajagopal, Retd. Adviser, Planning Commission, Dr. Sthi and many others graced the event.

The Programme concluded with the National Anthem.

4. BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMP ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: “ SAIRASS” (SITA All India Research and Social Services (R)) celebrated International Women’s Day on 9th March, 2019 at Narwana Apartments Community Hall, I.P. Extn. Delhi from 2.00 P.M.

Around 100 women participated in the celebration. SAIRASS organized the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Camp’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day. A team of specialists from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital headed by Dr. (Smt.) C.K. Durga conducted the awareness camp. The camp focused mainly on screening the doubtful cases and counseling on breast cancer and other issues. Doctors had also extended free consultation and advice to the women participants present at the camp. Doctors explained how to do self examination and gave tips to do. They explained the preventive measures for occurrence of cancer by detecting it in early stages, which can be possible on frequent checkups and self detection of changes in the body. Early detection of cancer is curable and latest medical treatment and equipments are available in every hospital.

SAIRASS Honoured few eminent persons on the Occasion of International Women’s Day for their achievements in different fields.

Dr. (Smt.) C. K. Durga, renouned Surgeon from R.M.L. Hospital is honoured by SAIRASS with “MATRU SREE AWARD” for her contribution in the field of women’s health through her extensive research on a path-breaking technique in ‘Breast Cancer Surgery’.

Smt. Amita Jain, is very devoted and sincere Social Activist helping the poor and needy without any inhibition. And many others honoured by SAIRASS on the occasion of International Women’s Day for their progress and achievements in life.

On this occasion, SAIRASS also honored Ms. Kala – a Cancer Survivor. She narrated her journey through the treatment which was quite inspirational to all the audience present on the occasion. We salute her for her brave and positive approach.

Smt. Anita Gupta, Judicial Member, was one among others who were felicitated on the occasion. She met with a serious accident in 2005 and became disabled. She decided to serve physically challenged people who underwent similar situations, through services/NGOs/RWAS and others in general.
She has countless National and International Awards, Appreciation Certificates for her multifarious talents. She started an Organisation named ‘Maa Shakti’ with an aim to serve the divyangs. Extending free legal services to the poor and destitute women. The slogan of Maa Shakti is “BHEEK NAHI ROJGAR DO”.

5. ORTHOPAEDIC MEDICAL CAMP
“SAIRASS” Voluntary Organisation has organized Orthopaedic Medical Camp through Apollo Hospital, New Delhi on 2nd June, 2019 from 10.00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M. at Kakateeya Cooperative Group Housing Society’s Community Hall, 86, I.P. Extn. Delhi.

Team of Orthopaedic Doctors headed by Dr. Vipul Vijay – Senior Orthopaeditian along with support Staff from Apollo Hospital, New Delhi conducted the camp.
Services provided in the camp included examining of Blood Pressure, Sugar, BMI, BMD, Orthopedic Consultation, Height and Weight etc.

Alongside, Dr. Vipul Vijay – Senior Orthopaeditian had delivered Orientation Lecture along with a slide show on “Joint Pains and its Management”. He had also clarified the queries raised by number of the participants.

About 100 participants availed the opportunity and underwent the relevant check-ups and examinations.

Shri Naseeb Singh, Former MLA and DPCC President, Smt. Shashi Chandana, Councilor, Social Activist Shri Vinod Choudhary and many others graced the Medical Camp and made it a successful.

Sri. N.S. Kameshwara Rao, President of Kakateeya society and SAIRASS President Smt. L. Sita thanked one and all for their cooperation on successful completion of the Medical Camp.

6. NIRJAL EKADASI:
SAIRASS’ a Voluntary Organization distributed Chhachh near Kakateeya Apts. I.P. Extn. on 13th June, 2019 on the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi. More than 500 people were served with cold chhachh.

7. NATIONAL DOCTORS’ DAY
SAIRASS celebrated ”National Doctors Day” today at Community Hall, Himvarsha Apartments, I.P. Extn.

Doctors day is celebrated in memory of great legend physician and Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. SAIRASS felicitated doctors from different medical fraternity with different disciplines belonging to Allopath, Ayurveda, Homeopaath, and Naturopathy and Yoga.
The programme started with Ganesh Vandana by Master Adwait followed by a Power Point presentation on the life history of Dr. B.C. Roy.
The felicitation programme started after lighting the lamp by Smt. Aparna Goel, Councillor, I.P. Extn. ,the Chief Guest Dr.( Smt.) C.K. Durga and Dr. G.S. Garg and other eminent doctors paid tributes to Dr. B.C. Roy.
SAIRASS honoured around 20 doctors from different medical fraternity including Dr. (Smt) C.K. Durga, Head of the Dept. Surgery, RML, also the recipient of Nari Shakti Puraskar from Honourable President of India.

Another eminent doctors like Dr. G.S. Garg ,Santi Mukand Hospital , Dr. Amit Batla, Max Hospital, Dr. V. Subhash, Directir, CGHS, (HQ) , Dr. (Prof) Vipul Vijay, Apollo Hospital, Dr. Raghuram Ayyagari, Chief Medical Officer of AYUSH and many others felicitated on the occasion.
Smt. Shashi Chandana, Councillor, Mandavalli, and Ex-councillor Smt. Manju Gupta and many other local eminent personalities graced the National Docors’ Day programme.

The programme concluded with National Anthem.

8. INDEPENDENCE DAY:
SAIRASS Celebrated 73rd Independence Day of India with the children on 15th Aug. 2019. Children participated in the various competitions conducted on the occasion. SAIRASS distributed Exercise books, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, biscuits and chocolates to the children.
